'Cats Complete Season Sweep of Huskers

EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern completed the season sweep of Nebraska with a 77-65 win on Tuesday night. The Wildcats (13-13, 6-11 B1G) have now defeated the Cornhuskers (7-20, 1-15 B1G) in five consecutive matchups and lead the all-time series 11-9.
Chris Collins moved to 9-2 in his career against Nebraska, tallying his most wins over a single opponent in his tenure as Northwestern's head coach.
Northwestern set the tone early with a 7-0 run. The Wildcats then utilized their aggressive defense and three-point shooting to lead the game wire-to-wire. The Wildcats forced 15 turnovers on 10 steals. They also made 13 threes on a season-high 32 attempts, tying a previous season-high set against the Cornhuskers. Coming into the game, Northwestern had only attempted 32+ threes in three conference games since 2011.
Pete Nance led the way with 20 points on 8-11 shooting and with a career-high four made threes. Nance also added a team-high five assists and five rebounds. Nance was on fire in the second half, scoring the first five Wildcat points of the half and connecting on all three of his three-point attempts.
Chase Audige chipped in with 15 points, a team-high tying five assists, four rebounds, and a team-high three steals. Audige now leads all Big Ten players with 35 steals against conference opponents.
Boo Buie finished with 15 points, three rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Buie connected on his first two threes of the game on consecutive possessions to give the Wildcats an early eight point lead.
The 'Cats look to keep their momentum rolling on Friday as they head to State College to take on Penn State. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. C.T., with coverage live on FS1.
