Wildcats Begin Two-Game Road Swing at Penn State

EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern men's basketball team opens its final two-game road swing of the season at Penn State at 6 p.m. CT on Friday, Feb. 25. FS1 will carry the game with Rich Ackerman (play-by-play) and Tarik Turner (analyst) on the call. Dave Eanet (play-by-play) and Billy McKinney (analyst) will describe the action on WMVP AM 1000.

The Wildcats (13-13, 6-11 B1G) are coming off a 77-65 home victory over Nebraska on Tuesday night. Pete Nance led the team scoring 20 points on a career-high four threes and added five rebounds and five assists. Nance posted his second 20/5/5 game of the season (Providence), becoming the first Wildcat with two or more such games in a year since John Shurna in 2011-12. Boo Buie (15), Chase Audige (15) and Ty Berry (10) joined Nance in double figures.

Head coach Chris Collins moved to 9-2 in his career against Nebraska, tallying his most wins over a single opponent in his tenure as Northwestern's head coach. The Cats tied a season-high drilling 13 threes, which they set in the season's first game against the Cornhuskers.

This is the 56th all-time meeting between Northwestern and Penn State and PSU leads the all-time series, 35-20. Northwestern last won in Happy Valley on Dec. 27, 2016 (87-77). When meeting twice in the regular season, the two teams have split the last five series, with NU recording the last season sweep in 2012 (68-56, 67-66). Penn State won inside Welsh-Ryan Arena earlier this season on Jan. 5, 2022, 74-70.

Assistant coach Talor Battle is making his return to the Bryce Jordan Center. Battle played for the Nittany Lions from 2007-11 and is their all-time leading scorer with 2,213 points.

NU plays its final road game of the season at 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 28, at Iowa. The game will be aired on BTN.
