Wildcats Finish Third at The Boilermaker

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Northwestern concluded its regular-season slate at The Boilermaker with a third-place team finish in the 15-team field, finishing above four Big Ten foes.
The Wildcats shot a final round of 7-under 281 to card a 54-hole score of 3-under 861 (292-288-281), four strokes better than fourth-place Kent State. NU was seven strokes back of second-place and host Purdue.
Illinois claimed the team title at 17-under 847, seven strokes ahead of Purdue.
Sophomore Dylan Wu paced the Wildcats for his second top-three finish of the season, shooting 5-under 212 to finish third overall in the field. Freshman Ryan Lumsden logged his second top-10 finish of the year after carding a career best 5-under 67 in the final round. The rookie cruised to a 1-under 215 to finish 10th in the individual standings.
The Wildcats are back in action next weekend to start postseason play with the Big Ten Championships.
