Wildcats Selected to NCAA Athens Regional

EVANSTON, Ill. (May 6, 2026) – The journey continues for Northwestern men's golf, with the NCAA announcing the fields for the upcoming NCAA Regionals on Wednesday. The Wildcats will be competing at the NCAA Athens Regional, May 18-20, at the University of Georgia Golf Course in Athens, Georgia.
Head coach David Inglis will lead the 'Cats to their tenth consecutive NCAA Regional, advancing to the NCAA Championship Finals in 2018.
The Wildcats opened their spring season with their third consecutive win at the Ganter Cup over Michigan State in January.
On the individual side, Daniel Svärd put forward his best to date, leading the Wildcats with a 70.84 scoring average. The senior collected three top-5 finishes on the campaign, including runner-up honors at the Windon Memorial Championship, and was recently named to the All-Big Ten First Team for the third consecutive season.
The top five teams and the low individual not on an advancing team from each regional will advance to play at the NCAA Men's Golf Championships, May 29-June 3, at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California.
