Tseng, Adam Post Top-10 Finishes At Windon Memorial Classic

‘Cats finish sixth in team race
NORTHFIELD, Ill. (September 27, 2023) – Ethan Tseng and Cameron Adam both earned top-10 finishes on the individual leaderboard as the Northwestern University men's golf team welcomed 14 teams to Sunset Ridge Country Club in Northfield, Ill. earlier in the week for the Windon Memorial Classic.
The Wildcats carded a 54-hole team score of 830 (271-275-284) to finish sixth in the team race, which was won by Purdue with a tournament-record tally of 814 (269-268-277). The Boilermakers' Herman Sekne shattered the previous 54-hole individual record, shooting a 16-under-par 197 (64-68-66) to claim individual medalist honors.
Tseng and Adam led the charge for Northwestern on the par-71, 6.754-yard course in Chicago's North Suburbs. Tseng started fast on Monday, firing a first-round four-under-par 67 ahead of a five-under-par 66 during second-round play en route to posting a 10-under-par 203 (67-66-70) to tie for fourth place. Adam checked in three strokes back of Tseng, opening play with a three-under-par 68 before back-to-back rounds of 69 that earned him a share of ninth place at 206 (68-69-69).
James Imai opened the week with a four-under-par 67 as part of a two-under-par 211 (67-71-73) to tie for 34th, while Daniel Svärd handed in a one-under-par 212 (69-71-72) that was highlighted by a first-round two-under-par 69. Niall Shiels-Donegan posted the top effort of his young collegiate career during second-round action, firing a two-under-par 69 on his way to tying for 69th at 217 (75-69-73).
Archie Finnie led a quartet of Wildcats competing as individuals, posting a pair of rounds in the 60s as part of a 34th-place finish with a 211 (77-66-68). Finnie shot a five-under-par 66, the low round of the week for Northwestern, during the event's second round ahead of a final-round three-under-par 68.
