EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern Men's Tennis prepares to host Princeton, Duke, and, UIC at the Combe Tennis Center this weekend with contests set for Friday and Sunday.
The Cats will face Princeton on Friday at 6 p.m. CT and Duke and UIC on Sunday at 12 p.m. CT and 5:30 p.m. CT, respectively.
The live stats for all three matches can be found here. Streaming for the three matches is as follows: Princeton, Duke and UIC.
Northwestern heads into the weekend with a 5-2 record after three weeks of the season and is coming off of an electric 4-3 win against Arizona State to close the ITA Kickoff Weekend in Chapel Hill.
Princeton enters the weekend with a 1-2 record and is coming off a 4-2 win against UNC-Wilmington.
The Tigers have not competed before this season since the abruptly halted 2019-20 season, when they finished in early March ranked No. 18 in the ITA Top 25. Princeton was on its way to the NCAA Tournament in a loaded Ivy League projected for six bids.
Duke is a perennial NCAA Tournament team out of the ACC and presents a stern test for the 'Cats. They enter the weekend receiving votes in the latest ITA Poll with a 3-1 record. Their only loss has come against No. 13 South Carolina. Last season, the Blue Devils made the Tournament but fell in the first round to USF.
The 'Cats faced off against the Blue Devils in February of 2020, falling 4-0 in Durham. Steven Forman, Trice Pickens and Simen Bratholm all competed, but were unable to secure wins. Bratholm, who has competed at No. 2 singles this season may have a chance for revenge against Andrew Zhang, who also competes at No. 2 for Duke and was a third-team All-ACC selection in 2021. Zhang led Bratholm 7-6 (5), 4-1 at No. 6 singles in 2020 when the match was clinched.
The 'Cats will look to close the weekend against UIC. The Flames are 1-4 this season and coming off a 7-0 loss to DePaul.
