EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern welcomes Penn State to Welsh-Ryan Arena for a Wednesday night showdown. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. CT and will be televised on Big Ten Network.

This is the 55th matchup between the two programs, with the 'Cats dropping a nail-biter in University Park last season, 81-78. The 'Cats will look to improve their 5-7 record against Penn State under Chris Collins.

Last time out, Northwestern held Michigan State to a .385 shooting percentage, the Spartan's second lowest mark of the season. The 'Cats rank second in the Big Ten and sixth in the nation with a .368 opponent field goal percentage this season.

The 'Cats are holding their opponents to a .398 shooting percentage from inside the arc, the third lowest mark in Division I.

Pete Nance leads the Wildcats at 16.0 points and 7.8 rebounds per game. Nance is the only player in the Big Ten to average at least 15 points and five rebounds per game, while shooting at least 40% from three-point range.

Ryan Young has been consistently getting to the free-throw line for the Wildcats. Young leads Northwestern with 35 made free-throws and 45 attempts, while ranking eighth in the nation with 7.8 fouls drawn per 40 minutes according to kenpom.com.

Boo Buie ranks second in the conference with 5.5 assists per game. one of two players in the Big Ten to average 10 points and five assists per game. Buie is one of 11 players in the nation averaging at least 14 points and 5.5 assists per game this season.
