Wildcats Fall to Penn State at Home

EVANSTON, Ill. – The Wildcats were unable to keep Penn State down and fell 74-70 after a late rally from the Nittany Lions.
Boo Buie and Pete Nance led the Wildcat offense, both setting new season highs in three point field goals made with five and three swishes from beyond the arc respectively.
Buie also led all players with eight assists, to go along with a team-high 22 points. Nance and Beran also hit double digits with 15 and 11 points, respectively.
Chase Audige led the Northwestern defense with seven rebounds to tie his previous season high, in addition to two steals and six points.
The 'Cats maintained a strong lead for the most of the first half, fueled by seven threes on a 47% clip. Beran, Buie and Nance put up two three's a piece to lead the Wildcat charge. Northwestern went into the break with a 34-29 lead on the back of a 6-0 run in the final two minutes.
Penn State came out of the gates firing in the second half and slowly chipped away at Northwestern's lead. The 'Cats held them back until the final minutes when the Nittany Lions managed to take the lead with their own success from beyond the arc.
The Wildcats will hit the road to face No. 13 Ohio State on Sunday. The tip is set for 4:30 p.m. CT on the Big Ten Network.
