BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Northwestern dropped a 34-3 decision at Indiana on Saturday night at Memorial Stadium.

Additionally,Travis Whillock chipped in with eight total tackles and a career-high 1.5 tackles for loss. Additionally, Jake Saunders and Adetomiwa Adebawore each notched their first-career sacks.

Joe Gaziano finished with five solo tackles and a tackle for loss on the opening drive of the game. This marks fourth-consecutive game in which he has notched a TFL, the longest streak of his career. Gaziano now sits at 41 career tackles for loss, he is now just one shy of tying Matt Rice (42; 1993-96) for the third-most in program history.

After taking a 10-0 lead to start the game, the Wildcats cut their deficit to three after a 15 play, 58-yard drive that was capped off by a 25-yard field goal by Charlie Kuhbander. The field goal marked the 26th of Kuhbander's career, moving him into sole possession of ninth place in program history for career field goals. Northwestern's 15-play drive that lasted 7:22 marked its longest scoring drive in the season in regards to plays and time of possession.

The Wildcat quarterbacks completed their first seven passes of the game before throwing an incompletion, with Aidan Smith completing his first four passes and Hunter Johnson his first three. Northwestern finished the game with 199 yards of total offense, including 112 passing yards between Smith and Johnson.

Northwestern will be back in action on Saturday, November 9 when they host Purdue at Ryan Field for an 11 a.m. kickoff.
