PITTSBURGH – The Baltimore Ravens selected Northwestern offensive lineman Evan Beerntsen in the seventh round with the No. 253 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Following Minnesota's selection of Caleb Tiernan in the third round with the No. 97 pick, Beerntsen is the second NU offensive lineman to be drafted this year.
The Green Bay, Wisc., native spent one season at Northwestern as a graduate student after spending six years at South Dakota State. With the Jackrabbits, he won two FCS national championships and earned All-Missouri Valley Conference honors twice.
At Northwestern, he earned All-Big Ten Honorable Mention honors after starting all 13 games at guard for the Wildcats. He allowed zero sacks or quarterback hits throughout the entire season, and his 80.2 PFF grade ranked 11th in the country for guards and fourth among Big Ten guards. He was also named to PFF's National Team of the Week in the Wildcats' tilt against USC in November. He immediately carved out a role as the starting right guard for the Wildcats and helped bolster the NU ground game, which averaged 160.2 rushing yards per game (8th in the Big Ten and 65th in the nation). That marked a jump of over 62 yards per game compared to the 2024 season.
Before college, he was a first-team all-conference performer at guard for the Appleton North High School football squad and also earned a spot on the Wisconsin All-Star Team.
