ERIN, Wis. — Senior Dylan Wu carded yet another under-par round at the Marquette Intercollegiate at Erin Hills, finishing in 14th place at the site of the 2017 U.S. Open.
Wu, who finished with a 1-under 71 in the first and third rounds, paced all Wildcat entrants, finishing with a 4-over 220 over 54 holes. This was the 16th-straight event that Wu has finished in the top-25.
Sophomore Everton Hawkins was the next-best Northwestern golfer in the event, finishing with a closing-round 73, his best output of the tournament. His 19th place finish was his best since finishing in 13th place at the Boilermaker Invitational in 2016-17.
As a team, Northwestern finished in 10th place. The Wildcats starting five finished with 20 birdies in the final round, paced by junior Ryan Lumsden, who logged six.
Lumsden, first year Eric McIntosh, and senior Sam Triplett fired rounds of 76, 77, and 78, respectively in the last round. Junior Luke Miller's 229 (77-78-74) was the third-best score among the 12 golfers entered as individuals.
The Wildcats will return to action at the Northwestern-hosted Windon Memorial Classic, Oct. 8-9, hosted at Evanston Golf Club.
