Wu Finishes Third at Final Big Ten Championships

TIMONIUM, Md. — On a day of unseasonably cold temperatures and less-than-ideal playing conditions, Northwestern turned in the second-best performance of the day to take home fifth place in the Big Ten Championship on Sunday.
Senior Dylan Wu impressed in his final Big Ten Championships, battling through the tough conditions to card a 3-over 73 and finish even-par in the tournament, placing him third place overall, only behind individual champion Nick Hardy (Illinois) and Cole Miller (Penn State).
Junior Ryan Lumsden finished strong on Sunday, shooting a 2-over 72, tied for the seventh-best score of the day. His 4-over finish placed him in a tie for tenth place in the contest.
Senior Sam Triplett carded a 4-over 74 in the final round, giving him a tie for 22nd place, and becoming the third Wildcat to finish in the top 25.
Sophomore Everton Hawkins finished the competition with a 6-over 76 and tied for 40th place, while junior Pete Griffith carded a 10-over 80 to finish in 67th place.
Chicago's Big Ten Team will head to the NCAA Regionals next, held on May 14-16. The squad will learn the location of their regional site on Wednesday, May 2 at 5 p.m. CT.
