Wu Leads Wildcats in Opening Round of Gifford Collegiate

CARLSBAD, Calif. - Northwestern currently stands in 12th place in the 15-team field after one round of play at the Gifford Collegiate in Carlsbad, California.

Stanford and Washington lead the pack at 1-over 285, closely followed by Oregon and UCLA who both sit at 3-over 287. In the individual standings, UCLA's Cole Madey sits at the top of the leaderboard at 4-over 67.

Sophomore Dylan Wu paces the 'Cats after day one after shooting an even par in the opening round of the three-day tournament. Wu carded three birdies on the front night to counter a trio of bogeys and currently sits 10^th in the individual standings.

The Wildcats return to action Tuesday, Nov. 3, for the second round of competition at the Gifford Collegiate.
