Men's Golf in Fourth Place at Robert Kepler Intercollegiate

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- In order to extend its string of top-two finishes at the Kepler Intercollegiate to five, Northwestern's men's golf team has some work to do on Sunday. The Wildcats finished with a 16-over 300 on Saturday and fell from second to fourth place. NU is 13 strokes behind UNLV, 10 behind Colorado and seven behind Purdue.
Juniors Scott Harrington (Portland, Ore./Jesuit) and Bjorn Widerstedt (Vasteras, Sweden/Flagler College) remained at the top of the leaderboard, with respective rounds of 72 and 74 on Saturday. Harrington, who shot even par on Friday, is 1-over for 36 holes and four strokes behind Purdue's Lee Williamson. Harrington is tied with four other golfers for second place.
Widerstedt is tied for 17th overall with a 5-over-par 147.
The Wildcats' Tom Johnson (Fair Oaks, Calif./Del Campo), the nation's 27th-ranked golfer, suffered an uncharacteristic round, shooting a 9-over 80. As a result, he dropped from second place to 44th on Saturday.
Third-round play resumes Sunday morning.
