Junior transfer joins ‘Cats from Vanderbilt University
EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern University head men's golf coach David Inglis announced the addition of Rowan Sullivan (Charleston, S.C./Porter Gaud School/Vanderbilt) to his 2025-26 roster on Friday. Sullivan, a junior transfer, joins the 'Cats after spending two years at Vanderbilt. He has three years of eligibility remaining.
"We are so excited to add Rowan to the team," said Inglis. "What stood out from our first interaction this summer was his desire to be at Northwestern and to be a part of our program. I know he is excited for this opportunity and I can't wait for him to get started as a Wildcat this fall."
Sullivan amassed a 72.73 scoring average across 15 rounds of action during his time with the Commodores, carding six rounds at par or better. As a sophomore in 2024-25, Sullivan played 12 rounds as an individual. He tallied one top-5 finish, tying for third at the Turtle Point Invitational with a score of 7-under 209.
The Charleston, S.C. native earned First-Year SEC Academic Honor Roll in 2024 and was named the SEC Co-Freshman of the Week on Oct. 23, 2024.
Coming out of high school, Sullivan was the No. 2-ranked player in South Carolina. In 2021, he was the state's Junior Amateur champion and the Junior Player of the Year. He was the South Carolina Class 3A state champion, earning Top 5 finishes at the 2022 South Carolina Amateur Championship (fifth), the 2023 Dustin Johnson World Junior Golf Championship (second), and making it to the quarterfinals at the 2023 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship (tied for fifth).
Sullivan joins first-years Monty Holcombe (Sutton, England/Wallington County Grammar School) and Isaac Lee (Hong Kong, China/DSC International School) in Northwestern's incoming class for the 2025-26 season (article). The Wildcats are set to return six letterwinners from last season's team, including five student-athletes that helped the program win the Big Ten Conference title in 2023-24. The group is led by Daniel Svärd, an All-Big Ten First Team selection, who became only the third two-time Big Ten individual champion in program history (2022-23 & 2023-24).
After recently wrapping up his time as a student-athlete, former Northwestern University men's golf standout Cameron Adam earned a spot at the 153rd Open Championship, currently taking place at Royal Portrush (article). Adam punched his ticket to golf's original major as the top performing amateur across three events during the month of June that feature as part of The Open Amateur Series.
