EVANSTON (June 2, 2026) – With the conclusion of stroke play at the NCAA Championship finalizing the PGA TOUR University rankings for the Class of 2026, Northwestern senior Daniel Svärd has earned membership to the PGA Tour Americas for the remainder of the 2026 season.

"I am very grateful for the PGA Tour University ranking in how it's allowing me to take the next step towards pursuing my dream of professional golf," Svärd said. "It gives all players in college a chance to develop and mature with a goal to climb the ranking at the end of their senior year. I'm super excited for the opportunity and new challenge that's ahead and look forward to making my professional debut in July!

First established in 2020, PGA TOUR University is designed to provide collegiate players with membership on PGA Tour-affiliated tours. Those who have exhausted four years of collegiate eligibility have the opportunity to earn placement on the PGA Tour, Korn Ferry Tour and PGA Tour Americas following the NCAA Championships.

Svärd, who placed 19th in the final rankings, recently concluded his Northwestern career in 19th place at the NCAA Athens Regional. The senior from Jarfalla, Sweden earned 15 top-5 finishes and three collegiate wins across his career, and joined Luke Donald and Sid Richardson as the third Wildcat in program history to win two individual conference championships. Svärd leaves Northwestern with a career stroke average of 71.14, second only to Donald in the Wildcat record book.

In addition to membership on the PGA Tour Americas, Svärd will be exempt into the Second Stage of PGA Tour Q-School, scheduled for December 1-4.

"Earning status on the PGA Tour Americas through PGA Tour U is an amazing accomplishment for Daniel and validates all his hard work up to this point," said head men's golf coach David Inglis. "This status allows him to transition to professional golf knowing he has a set schedule to play, is exempt into the 2nd stage of Q School, and has a direct pathway to the Korn Ferry Tour and ultimately the PGA Tour. What an amazing opportunity."
