ROSEMONT, Ill. (May 1, 2025) – The Northwestern Men's Golf team received four Big Ten Conference postseason awards, the Conference announced on Thursday. Senior Cameron Adam and junior Daniel Svärd (unanimous selection) were named to the All-Big Ten First Team, sophomore Niall Shiels-Donegan captured All-Big Ten Second Team recognition and sophomore Jeremy Chen received the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award.

Both Adam and Svärd won individual titles this season. In late October, Adam, raced out of the gate in the opening round of The Clerico with a three-under-par 67 before posting back-to-back even-par 70s on the way to securing his first career collegiate victory with a three-under 207 (67-70-70). Svärd, a two-time Big Ten Conference individual champion, was crowned co-champion of The Goodwin in Stanford, California, close to one month ago. Svärd tied for first on the leaderboard at 5-under (67-70-68=205) with four other golfers.

Shiels-Donegan's (-2; 71-69-71=211) best showing this season came in mid-April at the Lewis Chitengwa Memorial where he shot at or below par all three rounds and tied for sixth on the leaderboard, only three strokes behind the winner. He also excelled at The Prestige in La Quinta, Calif., shooting a seven-under-par 64 in his final round – the best round by a Wildcat this season.

Chen was named Northwestern's recipient of the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award, which is given to student-athletes with distinguished sportsmanship, ethical behavior, academic standing, and good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting.

The Wildcats will travel to the Tallahassee Regional for the NCAA Men's Golf Championships. Six 54-hole NCAA Regional tournaments will be conducted May 12-14.
