'Cats Go For Season Sweep of Penn State on Super Bowl Sunday

EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern men's basketball looks to sweep Penn State in the regular season series for the first time since 2012 as it hosts the Nittany Lions on Sunday, Feb. 11 at Noon CT inside Welsh-Ryan Arena. Dave Revsine (play-by-play) and Robbie Hummel (analyst) will have the call on BTN, while Dave Eanet (play-by-play) and Billy McKinney (analyst) will have the radio call on WGN Radio 720 and SiriusXM Channel 383.
Northwestern is 16-7 overall and in fourth place of the Big Ten Conference standings with a 7-5 league record. The Wildcats are 6-0 in Big Ten home games this season, their best start at home in conference play since the 1967-68 team went a perfect 7-0 in Big Ten home games. Dating back to last season, the Wildcats have won nine of their last 10 conference home games, equaling their best stretch since winning nine of 10 conference home games over the 1965-66 and 1966-67 seasons.
Over the last two seasons, Northwestern has won 19 Big Ten games, its most in back-to-back seasons in school history since winning 19 games over the 1931-1932 and 1932-33 seasons.
Last time out, the 'Cats snapped a two-game losing streak, defeating Nebraska 80-68 in a wire-to-wire win on Wednesday, Feb. 7 inside Welsh-Ryan Arena. The win marked Northwestern's sixth-straight win over the Cornhuskers in Evanston. Boo Buie led all Wildcats with 22 points on 4-for-7 shooting from 3-point range. Buie ranks second in the Northwestern career scoring record books with 1,978 career points, trailing only John Shurna's 2,038 career points.
Ryan Langborg posted 18 points, seven rebounds, and a career-high six assists, becoming the only Big Ten player to post that stat line this season.
Brooks Barnhizer recorded his second double-double in as many games, posting 14 points and 10 rebounds against the Huskers. Barnhizer's four double-doubles this season are the most by a Northwestern guard in a single season since at least 2010-11.
