Adam Runner-Up, Northwestern Seeded Second For Match Play At St Andrews Links Collegiate

Edinburgh, Scotland native finishes stroke play at three-under-par
ST ANDREWS, Scotland (October 15, 2024) – Cameron Adam earned a runner-up finish, while the Wildcats wrapped up the second overall seed for match play as the Northwestern University men's golf team completed stroke play at the St Andrews Links Collegiate in St Andrews, Scotland.
Paced by Adam, the 'Cats put up a 36-hole team score of 706 (351-355) at the Jubilee Course (par 70; 6,676 yards) to finish back of only Arizona (347-353=700) in the team standings.
Playing only 50 miles from his hometown of Edinburgh, Scotland, Adam, who carded an even-par 70 on Monday, caught fire in Tuesday's second round. He played the front-nine at a blistering four-under-par en route to closing his afternoon with a three-under 67 that marked the top round of the day. Adam's effort saw him land just two strokes back of Arizona's Zach Pollo (67-68=135), as he finished with a three-under 137 (70-67).
Four Wildcats joined Adam inside the top 10 on the final stroke play leaderboard. That quartet was led by Daniel Svärd, who turned in a one-over 141 (71-70) to take fifth place. One stroke back was Archie Finnie, another Edinburgh native, who shot an 18-hole season-best 69 in the event's opening round to help earn seventh place with a two-over 142 (69-73).
Akshay Anand and Niall Shiels-Donegan finished as part of a tie for eighth at 143. Anand (72-71) turned in his top 18-hole effort of the event during Tuesday's second round, firing a one-over 71, while Shiels-Donegan (69-74) carded a one-under 69 on Monday. Ethan Tseng tallied a 147 (73-74) to finish in 15th place.
