Wildcats Drop Saturday Contest at Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Northwestern dropped Saturday's contest at Minnesota, 77-60, inside Williams Arena in Minneapolis. Pete Nance led the way for the Wildcats with 18 points on 2-of-3 shooting from deep, to go along with two rebounds.
 
Trailing 43-27 at halftime, the Wildcats (12-13, 5-11 B1G) opened the second half on a 13-4 run, cutting the deficit to seven, but could not take the lead from Minnesota in the second half. NU's defense forced Minnesota into 10 turnovers in the second half and 15 for the game.
 
Boo Buie joined Nance in double figures with 16 points, and also grabbed three rebounds and dished out two assists. Buie scored the first seven NU points of the second half. Julian Roper led the team pulling down five rebounds.
 
Luke Loewe (13-12, 4-12 B1G) scored a season-high 24 points for the Golden Gophers.
 
The 'Cats look to get back on track on at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 22, as they return home to face Nebraska on BTN.
