THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
-
Last week, Northwestern held Ohio State to a season-low 278 yards, the fewest yards in a game for Ohio State since 2017. Additionally, the Wildcats forced six punts from Ohio State, OSU's most in a game since the 2019 CFP Semifinal vs. Clemson. Buckeyes QB CJ Stroud posted a 38% completion percentage and just 76 passing yards, both the lowest outputs of his career. It also marked the first start in Stroud's college career that he has not thrown a TD pass.
- Hull is looking to become the first Wildcat with back-to-back 1,000 yard seasons since Justin Jackson did so in four-consecutive years from 2014-17. Hull is currently 299 yards away from 1,000 entering Saturday's game. Against Ohio State, Hull recorded his fourth 100+ rushing game of the season at Maryland on Oct. 22, the 10th time in his career he has eclipsed the century mark. He joins Noah Herron (2001-04) and Damien Anderson (1998-01) for the fourth-most 100-yard rushing games by a Wildcat since 2000.
-
Malik Washington leads the Wildcats with 49 receptions and 519 receiving yards on the year. His 49 receptions through the Wildcats' first 9 games are the most since Flynn Nagel (63) in 2018. With 49 receptions for Washington and 45 receptions for Evan Hull, this marks the first time since 2000 in which two different Northwestern pass catchers have hauled in 45+ passes through the Wildcats' first nine games of the season. Washington has already become the first Wildcat since Bennett Skowronek (2017-18) to eclipse 500+ receiving yards in back-to-back seasons.
