COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Northwestern is set to travel to Maryland this Sunday to open Big Ten play. Tip off is set for 11 a.m. CT, with action live on Big Ten Network and WGN Radio 720 AM.

The Wildcats are currently 5-2 in the season after falling to Wake Forest 73-77, in overtime on Tuesday.  Pete Nance led the team with 15 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and 4 blocks. Nance scored seven of those points in a row near the end of the second half.

Boo Buie continues to lead the Big Ten in assists, and tallied a total of seven against Wake Forest. He has led in assists in seven of the team's past eight games.

Both Buie and Nance are currently tied among all active Wildcats for the most games leading the team in scoring, at 13 games apiece. They also have a combined 238 points through the first seven games this year, which is the most since John Shurna and Drew Crawford's 263 in 2011.

Since Chris Collins took over, Northwestern is 5-3 in its Big Ten openers. The 'Cats are also 4-4 in their first road conference games of the season. Last year, the 'Cats won both instances, knocking off #4 Michigan State, 79-65, in Evanston before defeating Indiana, 74-67, three days later in Bloomington.

Maryland is coming in 5-3 after a loss against Virginia Tech. Northwestern last saw the Terrapins last season, defeating them 60-55 in March.
