MADISON, Wis. — Northwestern makes the trip Northwestern this Saturday for a clash with Big Ten rival, No. 18 Wisconsin. Kick is slated for 11 a.m. CT on ESPN2 and WGN Radio.

The Wildcats prevailed 17-7 at Ryan Field when these teams last met in 2020, a critical win on Northwestern's path to lifting the Big Ten West title. They will be looking to put together a similar performance this weekend in an effort to rebound from a two-point loss to No. 19 Iowa a week ago.
 

Storylines

  • Chris Bergin, who leads the nation with 110 total tackles this year, will look to make it five-straight games with 10 or more tackles this weekend. The senior is putting together a monster season as the anchor of the WIldcats defense. He currently has 21 more total tackles than the next best player in the Big Ten (Olakunle Fatukasi, 89 TOT).
  • Charlie Kuhbander is shooting up the Northwestern record books. After converting on both of his field goal attempts last Saturday, the kicker reached 261 career points, one point behind Brian Gowins who currently has the second-most points scored in Northwestern history.
  • Northwestern held the Badgers scoreless after the first quarter when these teams met last year. The 'Cats put together an impressive defensive performance last week, holding the Hawkeyes to their third-lowest scoring output of the season. Northwestern also held its opponent under 200 passing yards for the fourth-straight game and allowed a paltry 14.3% third-down conversion rate, the Northwestern has allowed this season.
