Madison, Wisc. - Northwestern dropped a 35-7 decision to No. 18 Wisconsin on Saturday afternoon at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison.
The Wildcats opened the game with their longest drive of the season, at 19 plays, to march into Wisconsin territory before an interception in the end zone.
On defense, Northwestern was led by AP First Team Preseason All-American Brandon Joseph, who snagged his third interception of the season at the end of the first half. It was Joseph's ninth career interception, which moves him into a three-way tie for ninth all-time in Northwestern history with Sherrick McManis and Willie Lindsey.
On a challenging day for the Northwestern offense, Stephon Robinson, Jr. continued his impressive season at wide receiver with 134 all-purpose yards.
In the fourth quarter, A.J. Hampton returned a fumble, forced by Xander Mueller, 49 yards for a touchdown, the first defensive touchdown for the Wildcats since the 2018 Holiday Bowl and the first of Hampton's career.
Chicago's Big Ten Team returns to action at 11 a.m. on Saturday Nov. 20, welcoming No. 19 Purdue to Wrigley Field for the Wildcats Classic powered by CDW and NETAPP.
