EVANSTON, Ill. --- Northwestern will host Penn State on Saturday, March 6, in its final regular season game. The 'Cats are set to honor Tino Malnati, Pat Spencer and A.J. Turner for Senior Day. Tipoff is set for 3:00 p.m. CT with Senior Day festivities starting at 2:30 p.m. CT in Welsh-Ryan Arena.
NU and Under Armour unveiled the fourth edition of the 'By The Players' uniform Thursday in advance of the 'Cats regular-season finale on Saturday, March 7. The annual process is a collaboration between Wildcats senior student-athletes and Under Armour's design team to create the uniform the 'Cats will wear on Senior Day.
Although Pat Spencer was only a Wildcat for a season, he started 28 games and is one of three NU players since 1992 to average 10 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in his first season. He has recorded over 100 assists this year which places him among the top-10 in the conference.
A.J. Turner will finish his career with over 800 points, 300 rebounds and 250 assists. The Mt. Clemens, MI. native dropped a career-high 24 points and six 3-pointers in the Wildcats Cross-Town Showdown against DePaul in the 2018-19 season. One of Turner's most memorable plays as a Wildcat was his game winning three to beat Illinois last season in the new Welsh-Ryan Arena.
Tino Malnati was voted team captain for the 2019-20 season. He appeared in 19 games and was a member of Northwestern's first NCAA Tournament team.
