Northwestern Falls to NC State, 4-1

EVANSTON, Ill. – After a 6-1 win during their season opener on Wednesday, Northwestern Men's Tennis battled their way to a 4-1 loss against NC State on Friday evening.
After dropping the doubles point, Northwestern entered singles competition with a strong start. At No. 3, Junior Nick Brooks won the first singles set of the night with a commanding 6-1 mark.
At No. 4, sophomore Trice Pickens shot ahead with an impressive 6-1 first set and secured the first point for the 'Cats with a 6-1, 6-4 finish over his opponent Robert Turzak. Pickens, who won in Wednesday's match as well, now has a career 17-15 singles wins.
The 'Cats continue their run at home on Sunday, January 19 against Memphis. That match is set for 12 p.m. in the Combe Tennis Center.
