‘Cats Set to Open Spring Slate Against Illinois State

EVANSTON, IL – Northwestern Men's Tennis will open their spring season Wednesday evening against Illinois State at the Combe Tennis Center.
Swan returns senior Dominik Stary who ranks was selected #99 in the 2019-20 preseason rankings. The Wildcats also return the #10 ranked doubles team of Nick Brookes and Simen Bratholm who advanced to the round of 16 at the 2019 NCAA tournament.
NU will also welcome three newcomers in first-year Natan Spear and Russel Berdusco who were both ranked top-100 in the US by tennisrecruiting.net. The 'Cats also will add sophomore Steven Forman who previously competed for the University of Michigan before joining the Northwestern roster.
This season that 'Cats will host eighteen home matches including facing off against Big Ten rivals including Illinois, Michigan, Michigan State. NU will also match up against top-25 ranked opponents such as Ohio State, Oklahoma State, Columbia and NC State.
In their opening week, Chicago's Big Ten team will host Illinois State, NC State, Memphis and IUPUI at the Combe Tennis Center.
