Northwestern Reveals 2019-20 Men's Golf Schedule

EVANSTON, Ill. — Northwestern men's golf has announced yet another challenging slate for the 2019-20 campaign.
The Wildcats will start the season at home at the Northwestern-hosted Windon Memorial Classic (Sept. 16-17). The 23rd-annual version of the event will be held at Conway Farms in Lake Forest, Illinois and the fourth time that club has served as the host to the tournament.
Chicago's Big Ten Team will compete in three more events in the fall, starting with the Olympia Fields Fighting Illini (Sept. 20-22) at Olympia Fields Country Club that has played host to two US Opens, two PGA Championships, five Western Opens, a U.S. Amateur Championship and a US Senior Open and will be the site of the 2020 BMW Championship.
The Wildcats return to Erin Hills (Oct. 6-8) as the defending team champions of the course after posting a 12-under final-round total of 276 while Ryan Lumsden took home the individual title. Northwestern will conclude the fall at Crooked Stick in Carmel, Indiana. (Oct. 14-15), the host of the 2016 BMW Championship.
To kick off their spring slate, Chicago's Big Ten Team will play in the annual Big Ten Match Play (Feb.7-8) in Palm Coast, Florida. Northwestern is a four-time champion of the event.
The 'Cats will travel west for their next three events, starting with The Prestige (Feb. 17-19) in Palm Springs, California. Next, Northwestern competes at the Desert Mountain Collegiate (Mar. 7-8) in Scottsdale, Arizona, followed by The Goodwin (Mar. 26-28) in Palo Alto, California.
NU wraps up its regular season with the Boilermaker (Apr. 11-12) in West Lafayette, Indiana and then the Kepler Intercollegiate (Apr. 25-26) in Columbus, Ohio.
The Wildcats will then compete in the Big Ten Championships, May 1-3, at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Illinois which previously hosted the 2017 NCAA Championships.
NCAA Regionals are scheduled for May 17-20 at a site to be announced, while the NCAA Championships are May 29-June 3 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Despite losing Byron Nelson Award recipient, Ryan Lumsden — to graduation, Northwestern will welcome a highly-touted recruiting class comprised of JD Driscoll (Lake Mary, FL./Lake Mary Prep), Matthew Camel (Greenwich, CT./Brunswick School), and James Imai (Brookline, MA./ Brookline High School). The 'Cats also return rising sophomore, David Nyfjäll, who earned a First Team All-Big Ten selection and Big Ten Freshman of the Year. Nyfjäll finished his rookie season with the lowest single-season stroke average by any first year since Luke Donald as well as the eighth best average in program history with 71.21.
