'Cats Battle Windy Conditions in Day Two of Big Ten Championships

Flourtown, PA. - The Northwestern men's golf team fought through strong winds to climb the leaderboard for a share of seventh place after day two of the Big Ten Men's Golf Championship at The Philadelphia Cricket Club. 
 
Saturday's round featured gusts howling over 25 mph, making play difficult for the 14-team field. Northwestern shot 29-over par while Illinois and Minnesota share the lead after a 23-over score. 
 
Every Wildcat golfer recorded at least one birdie in the tough playing conditions for a total of eight on the day.  The average score on the Wissahickon Course in round two was 78.3.
 
On the individual leaderboard, Sophomore Eric McIntosh shot a team low 5-over 75 to tie for 14th
 
Chicago's Big Ten Team will tee off in the third-and-final round of the Big Ten Championships from the first hole alongside Indiana beginning at 7 am CT. Live scoring can be found on Golfstat.
