Northwestern Set for Big Ten Championships

EVANSTON, Ill. -The Northwestern men's golf team will begin postseason play at the 2019 Big Ten Men's Golf Championships, April 26-28.
The 54-hole competition will commence on Friday, with first-round action beginning at 8 a.m. CT. The second round will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, with the final round slated for 7 a.m. on Sunday. The championships will be held at the 7,119-yard, par-70 trek at Philadelphia Cricket Club's Wissahickon Course.
The 14 team field will feature four Big Ten teams among the top 50 according to the latest Golfstat national rankings, No. 27 Illinois leads the way followed by No. 38 Iowa, No. 45 Ohio State and No. 47 Northwestern.
Ahead of Friday's tournament, senior Ryan Lumsden was named the recipient of the prestigious Byron Nelson Award, a national honor that recognizes a collegiate golfer for their achievements on and off the course.
Lumsden is one of eight top-15 finishers from last season's Big Ten Championships (T10).
Northwestern is set to tee off at 8:45 a.m. CT alongside Michigan State and Penn State with live scoring available here.
