PALM COAST, Fla. – Pete Griffith and Lucas Becht picked up two individual wins for Northwestern in the quarterfinal of Big Ten Match Play Friday afternoon, but it was not enough to top Maryland, falling 4-2.

"We weren't quite sharp enough this afternoon and Maryland just outplayed us at the top end of the line-up. Excited to go up against Purdue tomorrow morning," said Inglis.

After hitting the pin from 205 yards on the par 5 second hole, Griffith tapped in for birdie to go 5-up with six to play. The senior defeated Chris Lane, 6&4.

Lucas Becht won the fifth hole with par to go up one with three to play and defeated Dillon Brown, 3&1.

Northwestern will play Purdue for round three in the consolation bracket at  7 a.m. CT. Live scoring for day two of the Big Ten Match Play Championships can be found here
