Northwestern Set for The Prestige at PGA West
2/17/2019 2:32:00 PM | Men's Golf
EVANSTON, Ill. —The Northwestern men's golf team will compete in the 19th annual Prestige at PGA WEST in La Quinta, California. The tournament will be held on the famous PGA WEST Greg Norman Course, starting Monday, February 18th.
The event will start bright and early on Monday morning and conclude Wednesday, February 20th, at the par-71, 7,070-yard course. Northwestern is set to tee off Monday at 7:41 AM, PST.
The Wildcats, who won the event in 2000, will be returning for their first spring stroke play tournament. This tournament is a prime opportunity for Northwestern to grow from its season in the fall.
This year, the highly competitive tournament will have appearances from three of its last four champions, including LSU ('15), Oregon ('16), and Oklahoma State ('18), and will be hosted by UC Davis.
Situated beautifully among mountains and greenery, Coachella Valley, the weather will pose no challenge Chicago's Big Ten Teamt. Forecast predict temperatures around 75 degrees and sunnies skies throughout the week.
Golfweek's exclusive livestream coverage begins Feb. 19 for the tournament's second round and culminates with the final round Feb. 20. Veteran broadcasters Will Haskett and Steve Scott will call the action, with Golfweek's Lance Ringler providing interviews and analysis. Fans can watch the Golfweek livestream here, and keep up with live scoring on Golfstat.
