Northwestern Falls at Nebraska, 59-50

LINCOLN, Neb. — Northwestern was topped by Nebraska, 59-50, on Saturday night at the Pinnacle Bank Arena.
Senior forward Vic Law paced the Wildcats with 15 points. He scored 15-plus points for the third-straight game — the first time he has done so in three-consecutive Big Ten competitions.
Senior center Dererk Pardon picked up his 15th double-double of the season, ending with 13 points and 12 rebounds.
Sophomore guard Anthony Gaines had 10 points, including a career-high tying two three-pointers.
Nebraska led, 28-23, in the first half. Law posted a game-best 10 points in the first stanza, going four-for-seven from the field, including a three-pointer. Pardon and Gaines combined for 11 rebounds in the first half, with Pardon leading the way with six.
The Wildcats came out with an effective offensive performance to start the second half. NU took the lead, 36-35, over the Huskers with a hookshot jumper from Pardon.
The Cornhuskers used a late, 11-0, run to down the Wildcats. Northwestern outshot Nebraska in the second period, 36 percent to 30 percent,
Northwestern plays again on Wednesday, February 20, against Ohio State in Columbus. Tip is set for 7:30 p.m.
