EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern wraps up its four-game homestand on Friday night as the Wildcats welcome the Norfolk State Spartans to Welsh-Ryan Arena. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. CT.

The 'Cats have locked in defensively to start the season, combining for eight blocks and 12 steals in their past two games. Sophomores Pete Nance and Miller Kopp have emerged as leaders for the team on the offensive side of the ball, with both players averaging double-digit points per game.  The duo accounted for a combined 29 points in Tuesday's game against Radford.

Friday night's matchup marks the first meeting between the two programs.

STORYLINES

Seeing Double: Pete Nance logged his second career double-double against Radford on Tuesday after notching the first in the season opener vs. Merrimack. On Tuesday, Nance put up a team-high 16 points and 10 rebounds to secure the feat. He now leads the team in both points and rebounds per game.

Leading Trio:
The Wildcats have turned to members of the 2018 recruiting class for production through the first three games of the season. Sophomores Pete Nance and Miller Kopp, along with redshirt first-year Ryan Young are three of the team's top four scorers: The trio is accounting for 56.6% of NU's offense this season through three games. All three are shooting above 40 percent from the field, with Young's 64.3 percent mark leading the team. Nance (10.0), Young (6.0.) and Kopp (5.0) are also the Wildcats' top three rebounders.

Down Pat: Last time out, Pat Spencer scored seven of the team's first 12 points. He contributed a season-high six assists after logging five in last week's game against Providence, good for the team lead in that category with 12 on the season.

QUOTABLES

"You're talking about a lot of guys that are really new to the college game, and these are all really great learning experiences, even though sometimes they're really tough growing pains"

- Sullivan-Ubben Head Coach Chris Collins on the team's youth

"It's super early. The college basketball season is really long, and sometimes it's hard to not look into the future. We're focused on the next game. There's a lot left to learn, and a lot of room to grow.

- Sophomore Miller Kopp on the team's mentality

"I think we have a long, athletic team, and I think our length bothers people… I think that's something we like and I think our defense is really improving."

- Sophomore Pete Nance on the team's strengths
