'Cats in Second After Strong Start at Erin Hills

ERIN, Wisc. - The Northwestern men's golf team is just two shots of the lead after round one of the Marquette Intercollegiate at Erin Hills.
TEAM LEADERBOARD | INDIVIDUAL LEADERBOARD
The Wildcats carded a 6-over 294 score, right behind UCLA at 4-over.
Leading the second place Wildcats is sophomore David Nyfjäll. The Uppsala, Sweden native remained steady on the front nine carding just one bogey and closed out his day with back-to-back birdies to jump to fourth place on the leaderboard at 1-under.
Following Nyfjäll is junior Eric McIntosh. McIntosh finished round one just 1-over par to tie for ninth.
Senior Everton Hawkins was 2-under at the turn, carding four birdies on his first five holes and is tied for 19th.
Chicago's Big Ten Team will tee off tomorrow, Oct. 7 beginning at 9:50 AM. Live scoring can be found here.
