'Cats in the Hunt after Day One at Crooked Stick

CARMEL, IN. - After a 36-hole day, the Northwestern men's golf team has a share of fourth place at the Crooked Stick Invitational in Carmel, IN. 
 
LEADERBOARD

The Wildcats finished both the first and second rounds with a 5-over 293 and are tied with Illinois and Ohio State at 10-over. The Georgia Bulldogs lead the tournament at 4-under. 
 
Leading Northwestern is sophomore David Nyfjäll who shot scores of 70-72. The Uppsala, Sweden Native carded seven birdies and one eagle and is in seventh place. 
 
First-year John Driscoll III had a strong second round, carding an even-par round for a share of 18th place.
 
As a team, Northwestern recorded 33 birdies, the third most of any team, led by Driscoll with 10, the second most of any individual in the tournament. 
 
Chicago's Big Ten Team will tee off in the third-and-final round beginning at 8:00 AM CT. Live stats can be found here.
