Wildcats Remain Steady in Day Two of NCAA Regionals

UPPER ARLINGTON, Ohio — Northwestern held on to its fourth-place spot on Tuesday, carding a 7-over 291 in the second day of competition at Ohio State Golf Club's Scarlet Course. Only three teams logged rounds better than NU's on the day.
The Wildcats will head into the final round tomorrow seeking a top-5 finish and a trip to the NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship. The #B1GCats are currently five strokes ahead of sixth-place Penn State.
Northwestern was led by an under-par round from junior Ryan Lumsden, who carded a 1-under 70, tied for the sixth-best round of the day.
Senior Dylan Wu rebounded nicely after a challenging first round, logging the next-best score for the Wildcats, an even-par 71, to move him into a tie for 22nd place.
Sophomore Everton Hawkins continued to play solid golf, finishing with a 2-over 73.
Hawkins and Lumsden are NU's highest players on the leaderboard, with both currently in a 13th-place tie.
Senior Sam Triplett carded a 6-over 77 while first-year Eric McIntosh shot a 7-over 78. Both are eight-over for the tournament and tied for 33rd place.
Oklahoma State maintained its first-place position on the leaderboard, moving to 9-under on the tournament. Among the individuals, Nick Hardy (Illinois), Matthew Wolff (Oklahoma State), Michael Feagles (Illinois), and Zack Bauchou (Oklahoma State) are tied for the lead at 3-under.
The Wildcats will tee off tomorrow at 7 a.m. CT and will be paired with Texas Tech and Penn State once again.
