‘Cats wrap up fall play with wins at Minnesota Mock Duals

MINNEAPOLIS, MN – This weekend the 'Cats wrapped up fall play at the Gopher Invitational hosted by Minnesota.

Doubles teams of Trice Pickens and Antonioni Fasano ended the weekend with a 2-2 record after defeating DePaul's doubles team of Fran & Vito Tonejc 6-4 and Utah's team of Shainyan and Parker 6-3. The team of Ben Vandixhorn and AJ Joshi also had a two win weekend after taking down Notre Dame's McCormick and Ray 6-4 and the team of Little and Hankuliyev from Utah 7-6(5).

Pickens, Fasano and Joshi swept their opening matches against Stoner of Utah (7-5, 6-4), McCallie of Utah (6-1, 6-1) and Conklin of Dartmouth (6-3, 6-2) respectively. In the second round, Fasano kept his win streak alive and defeated DePaul's Fran Tonejc in three sets (6-1, 4-6, 6-2). In round three the 'Cats had two wins with Pickens defeating Minnesota's Ogilvy (1-6, 6-3, 6-1) and Joshi taking Hankuliyev of Utah in two sets (6-4, 7-5). Pickens and Fasano both wrapped up the weekend with wins after claiming victory over Utah's Shainyan (7-5, 6-1, 1-0(7)) and Parker (6-6, 6-2) respectively.

The 'Cats will be back in action on Jan. 13 against the University of Memphis at the Racquet Club of Memphis.
