Northwestern men's golf alums had a productive weekend on the professional circuit, as three former 'Cats recorded top-25 finishes.
The cohort was highlighted by Matt Fitzpatrick, who utilized a 5-under 68 in the final round of the Nordea Masters to finish in a second-place tie. The Sheffield, England, native notched his second-ever professional victory at the Nordea Masters in 2016.
Fitzpatrick finished with a 10-under 282 (73-70-71-68) in Malmö, Sweden. He utilized seven birdies in his final round to record his best finish since finish in first place at the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai.
The two other top-25 finishes came from the Web.com Tour's Rex Hospital Open. Scott Harrington (-10) finished in 10th place, while Chris Wilson (-8) finished in 17th. They both used Sunday as a moving day, as they increased 16 places and nine places, respectively.
Harrington improved in every round, finishing with 274 strokes (72-69-67-66). The 2003 graduate notched his best finish of the 2017 season, topping his 17th-place tie at the BMW Charity Pro-Am. He has made four-consecutive cuts, the 11th-longest streak on the tour. He moved up 30 places — up to 54th — on the money list with his finish.
Wilson was benefited by an opening-round 67 and finished with an 8-under 276 (67-72-69-68). It was the first tournament of the 2017 Web.com season for the 2007 graduate.
David Lipsky, playing with Fitzpatrick at the Nordea Masters, finished in 30th place after shooting a 2-under 290 (75-72-72-71). He has finished in the top-30 in four of his six previous tournaments.
Luke Donald missed the cut at the Memorial Tournament after shooting a 4-over 148 (72-76).
