Pro 'Cats: Luke Donald Narrowly Edged at RBC Heritage
4/17/2017 9:18:00 AM | Men's Golf
Northwestern alum Luke Donald was narrowly edged at the RBC Heritage this weekend after finishing the four-round tournament at Harbour Town Golf Links with a 12-under 272.
The 2001 graduate came out of the box strong, carding a dazzling 65 and 67 in the first two rounds, respectively. He used a flop-shot to hole out for birdie on 18 in the second round to move to 10-under and move into a tie for the lead heading into the weekend.
The Englishman showed determination in the final round. After falling four shots back in the third round, he double-bogeyed the par-five second hole. But Donald birdied four holes in a six hole stretch (No. 9-14) to give him a share of the lead heading into the last few holes of the tournament.
The 69th-best golfer in the world ended the RBC Heritage by shooting a 68 in the final round, falling one stroke shy of the winner Wesley Bryan. This year marked the second-straight year that the 39-year-old took home a second-place finish at the Heritage.
Donald's countryman, Matt Fitzpatrick, missed the cut at the Heritage after shooting 73-72. He is currently ranked world no. 34.

@LukeDonald 26/31 up and downs this week. Focus last week was on being more instinctual & using his eyes in short game. Less thoughts
