Northwestern Wraps Up SIU Invite

CARBONDALE, Ill. —
Northwestern finished up the SIU Invite by topping Southern Illinois, 203-134, while falling to Kentucky, 293-54, and Missouri, 279-68, on Saturday afternoon.
 
Northwestern's A relay team of Nick Peterson, Will Hofstadter, Ryan Tate and Almog Olshtein started the morning by taking fifth in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:33.60.
 
Lyon Zhang grabbed one of Northwestern's best finishes of the day by placing fourth in the 200 breast with a time of 2:06.22. Justin Hanson came in behind Zhang, posting a 2:08.33. Zhang also took ninth (4:06.83) for the Wildcats in the 400 IM.
 
Ryan Tate also earned a fourth-place finish for the Wildcats. The junior swam the 100 fly in a time of 49.70.
 
DJ Hwang was the Wildcats' top finisher in the 1,000 free when he touched the wall in 9:29.17 to take fifth place in the race.
 
In the 50 free, Olshtein placed seventh in 21.51, while Peter Lewczyk took 10th with a time of 21.70.
 
Northwestern returns to the Norris Aquatics Center on Saturday, Nov. 11, to take on Wisconsin at 9 a.m. CT.
