EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern men's swimming and diving will travel to the University of Wisconsin for the 2026 Big Ten Men's Swimming and Diving Championships at the Soderholm Family Aquatic Center in Madison from Feb. 25-28. The competition will begin on Wednesday at 4 p.m. CT with two relays and a team diving exhibition, followed by three days of preliminary events at 10 a.m. CT and finals at 5 p.m. CT. All of the action will be streamed on B1G+.

At the 2025 Big Ten Championships in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the 'Cats took seventh place with 711 points, made 14 trips to the podium – nine individual and five relay – and saw three school records get broken (50 Free, 100 Back and 400 Free Relay). David Gerchik, Diego Nosack, Stuart Seymour and Joshua Staples each earned two individual trips to the podium.

Staples was named to the event's All-Freshman Team last year, while junior Christopher Leung was recognized as a Big Ten Men's Swim and Dive Sportsmanship Honoree. Gerchik, Leung, Nosack, Seymour, Staples, junior Adam Cohen, sophomore Kyle Ly, junior Ryan Augustine, sophomore Nolan Rooker and senior Jack White are all returning Wildcats who recorded at least one podium finish last year.

Most recently, No. 19 Northwestern concluded regular season action over the weekend in a tri-dual against Minnesota and Purdue. The 'Cats men's swept Purdue, 181-172 and Minnesota, 214-139. NU claimed victories in the 200 Medley Relay, the 800 Free Relay, the 200 Free Relay and the 400 Free Relay.

Staples and Seymour are Wildcats to watch this week following strong outings to end the regular season. In the 200 Breast, Staples posted a personal best and punched his ticket to NCAAs in March with an NCAA Qualifying Standard time of 1:54.71. He also touched first in the 100 Breast (52.39 seconds) and 400 IM (3:44.95). Seymour led all Wildcats with event victories in all six events he participated in. Individually, he picked up wins in the 100 Back (45.38 seconds) and 100 Fly (45.65 seconds). The junior also participated in all four victorious Wildcat relays.

The 'Cats will compete against five ranked opponents this week, including No. 2 Indiana, No. 10 Michigan, No. 13 Ohio State, No. 17 USC, and No. 21 Minnesota.

Up next, NCAA Diving Zones are scheduled for March 11-14, with NCAA Championships slated for March 25-28 in Atlanta, Ga.
