Wu Competes With Elite Company at All-America Golf Classic

EL PASO, Texas — Senior Dylan Wu finished the prestigious 2017 Andeavor Sun Bowl All-America Golf Classic with an even-par score at the El Paso Country Club.
 
After finishing the first round with a 1-over 72, he rebounded to card a 2-under 69 in a clean round two, making three birdies and one bogey. In round three, Wu went 1-over to finish with an even 213 strokes.
 
The event is one of the premier amateur golf tournaments in the country and counts Jordan Spieth, Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, and Davis Love III among a handful of past participants.
 
"Players are invited to this tournament because of their All-America status and outstanding amateur career and ranking," said Tournament Director Bob Kimble.
 
Wu was named to the PING Second-Team All-America in June, capping off one of the best seasons in Northwestern golf history. He won the Les Bolstad Award for low scoring average in the Big Ten, was named unanimously to the First Team All-Big Ten and notched the third-lowest scoring average in program history (70.53).
 
The senior joined storied company in NU history that have earned All-America status, including Luke Donald, Jess Daley, Scott Rowe, Jim Benepe, and Jeff Jones.
