Northwestern Completes Regular Season with Triple Dual

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Senior Jordan Wilimovsky claimed first-place finishes in both the 1,000 free and 500 free as Northwestern men's swimming and diving wrapped up its regular season with a triple dual against No. 16 Minnesota and Purdue.
The meet was Northwestern's final competition before the Big Ten Conference Championships, which will take place in Columbus, Ohio, from Feb. 22-25.
Northwestern fell to both Minnesota and Purdue in the final team scores. The Gophers topped the Wildcats, 265-85, while Purdue beat Northwestern, 249-101.
Wilimovsky swam the 1,000 free in 8:58.93 and the 500 free in 4:26.70.
Almog Olshtein, who claimed first place finishes in the 50 free for two consecutive weeks, was edged out at the triple dual when he finished second in 20.62. Minnesota's Bowen Becker won the event with an NCAA 'B' cut time of 20.13.
Northwestern's 200 medley relay team of Nick Petersen, Will Hofstadter, Ryan Tate and Almog Olshtein placed third with a time of 1:30.82. Olshtein and Hofstadter teamed up with Gage Kohner and Ryan Tate in the 200 free to finish third in 1:22.32.
Charlie Cole picked up a third-place finish in the 200 free when he turned in a time of 1:39.42.
Andrew Cramer was Northwestern's top diver in both the 3-meter (336.00), 1-meter (306.35) and platform (334.05) events, placing fifth in all three.
