EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern returns to Welsh-Ryan Arena to open up a five-game homestand Friday when it takes on Bryant in a 1 p.m. matinee.

The contest is Take a Kid to a Game Day. Two children in the eighth grade and under will be admitted free of charge with a paid adult admission purchased at the Welsh-Ryan Arena box office on the day of the game. The offer also applies for season ticket holders.

Friday's game begins a stretch of eight straight games in the Chicagoland area for the Wildcats to conclude nonconference play.

The Wildcats earned a runner-up finish in the Legends Classic in Brooklyn, getting edged by Notre Dame in the championship game on Tuesday, 70-66. Scottie Lindsey led NU with 18 points while Vic Law added 14 and Nathan Taphorn contributed 12. Law and Lindsey were named to the all-tournament team.

NU is shooting a stellar 45.1 percent as a team from 3-point range, a mark that leads the Big Ten. Vic Law leads the way, shooting an impressive 70.0 percent (14-20) from beyond the arch. NU has hit 10 or more 3-pointers in three of its first five games this season. The Wildcats matched a season high with 11 triples against Notre Dame on Tuesday.

Sophomore center Dererk Pardon has established himself as a force in the post in his first season as a starter. He already has 14 blocked shots through five games (2.8 pg; 3rd in Big Ten), surpassing his total of 12 blocks from all of last season. His 6 blocks against Notre Dame Nov. 22 rank as a tie for the fifth most in a game in school history. Pardon recorded his second career double-double (10 points, 11 rebounds) in NU's win over No. 22/21 Texas Nov. 21.

Northwestern and Bryant are meeting for the first time. The teams have two common opponents this season. NU defeated Eastern Washington 86-72 while Bryant lost to the Eagles 81-77. The Wildcats fell 70-66 to Notre Dame while the Bulldogs lost 89-64 against the Fighting Irish.

Scouting Bryant
The Bulldogs (2-3) are is coming off a 64-57 win over Louisiana Monroe on Tuesday night in Cheney, Washington. Sophomore guard Nisre Zouzoua led Bryant with a career-high 30 points. He has scored 19 or more points in four of the team's five games and is averaging 21.2 points per contest. Freshman guard Adam Grant is contributing 15.0 points per game. Bryant was picked to finish third in the Northeast Conference this season in the preseason coaches poll.
