Sam Triplett Paces 'Cats After 36 Holes at Bridgestone Golf Collegiate

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Junior Sam Triplett is just two shots off the individual lead and Northwestern sits second in the 13-team field at Bridgestone Golf Collegiate following the opening day of 36-hole action on Sunday at the Grandover Resort.
Tee times will begin at 8:30 a.m. CT on Monday.
Triplett is two shots off of a first-place pace at 8-under 136 after a second round 4-under 68. In the morning, Triplett started the day with a three birdies on the front nine and finished 36 holes with 11 birdies total. The junior finished the day at 6-under 138.
Fifth-year senior Andrew Whalen also carded a team-best 11 birdies to finish the day round at 5-under 139. He finished up with a 3-under 69 second round and sits in 15th place overall after 36 holes.
Junior Dylan Wu and freshman Everton Hawkins also attributed to the Wildcats strong day one effort, shooting 4-under 140 after 36 holes. The duo finished the day tied at 18th overall.
