NU Travels to North Carolina for Bridgestone Golf Collegiate

Northwestern will compete at the 12th-annual Bridgestone Golf Collegiate on Sunday and Monday, Oct. 30-31, at the Grandover Resort. The event will be the fifth for the Wildcats this season.
This year's event will be played at the Grandover Resort for the fifth-straight year, but will be played for the first time on the West Course due to damage sustained to the greens on the East Course. The West Course will play at a par-72 course in 6,800-yards. Purdue is the returning champion of the Bridgestone Golf Collegiate, winning last year's event by two strokes over North Carolina.
The Wildcats finished third as a team at the event last season. The top finisher for the 'Cats was senior Andrew Whalen closed out the tournament ranked eighth overall in the individual standings. Whalen carded 16 birdies through three rounds and finished the final day at even par and shot a season-best 3-under 213 through three rounds.
The event will begin Sunday morning with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start for 36-holes with the third round played Monday, also with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. The Wildcats are set to tee off from holes No. 11-13. Live scoring will be available at www.golfstatresults.com.
