EVANSTON, Ill. — Northwestern will travel down the road to the University of Chicago this Saturday for a quad meet starting at 11 a.m. CT that also features the host-Maroons, UIC and Olivet Nazarene.
The Wildcats are coming off a 167-128 win over Eastern Michigan last Friday in the season opener, in which they took first place in eight of the 14 swimming events and swept the diving competition.
Almog Olshtein excelled in the opening meet with three first place finishes. The junior won both the 50 and 100 freestyle races, while also anchoring the Northwestern 200 free relay team that took the top spot.
Jordan Wilimovsky ensured his senior season got off to a fast start, winning the 1,000 free in 9:05.29. The Malibu, Calif., also took the top spot in the 200 free with a time of 1:41.09.
Northwestern's Justin Hanson helped rack up points for the team by winning both the 200 butterfly and the 200 breaststroke in 1:50.13 and 2:06.43, respectively.
The diving events were dictated by NU as well, as senior Andrew Cramer and sophomore Ben Magliato took the top two spots in both the 3-meter and 1-meter competitions.
Saturday's meet will be the first for both University of Chicago and UIC this season, while Olivet Nazarene finished fourth of five teams in their only competitive meet so far.
