Northwestern Sweeps Meet at University of Chicago

RESULTS

CHICAGO — Northwestern men's swimming and diving team swept its quad dual meet at the University of Chicago on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Wildcats topped UIC, 210-90, Olivet Nazarene, 201.50-96.50, and University of Chicago, 214-83, in the team's second meet of the season.
 
Northwestern's 200-medley relay team of Nick Petersen, Almog Olshtein, Arjun Sharma and Gage Kohner set the tone early by claiming the top spot in the event with a time of 1:34.19.
 
Senior Jordan Wilimovsky swam in four races during the session including, the 200 free, 200 fly, 200 back and the 400 free relay. His top result came in the 200 free where he placed first overall with a time of 1:41.99.
 
Northwestern had a strong showing in the 100 back with Alex Snarski and Andrew Jovanovic place first and second, respectively. Snarski finished in 50.96, while Jovanovic trailed right behind with a time of 51.58.
 
The Wildcats had a pair of swimming pick up second-place finishes later in the meet with Will Hofstadter in the 100 back, placing second with a time of 57.20 and Justin Hanson taking second in the 200 fly (1:50.64).
 
After not swimming in the 50 free last week against Eastern Michigan, Snarski swam the event in 21.50 to take second place for the #B1GCats.
 
For the second straight week, Andrew Cramer and Ben Magliato took first and second, respectively in the 1-meter and 3-meter dives. Cramer scored 331.05 in both events, while Magliato posted 304.50 in both events.
 
Almog Olshtein continued to impress in the sprint swims, taking first place in the 100 free (46.46) for the second consecutive week.
 
Tyler Lis swam a top time in the 200 back of 1:51.09 to capture the top spot in the event, while teammate Wilimovsky placed third with a time of 1:53.18.
 
Northwestern's final individual first-place finish came in the 500 free when Charlie Cole edged out University of Chicago's Taye Baldinazzo with a time of 4:38.13.
 
The Wildcats will head to Raleigh, N.C., next weekend to take on North Carolina State (Oct. 28) and Duke (Oct. 29).
