EVANSTON, Ill. — Northwestern will host a Big Ten triple dual meet on Friday, Jan. 29 and Saturday, Jan. 30 against Purdue and No. 20 Minnesota at the Norris Aquatics Center. Events will get underway on Friday at 5 p.m. and noon on Saturday.
This weekend's triple dual meet marks the final time the Wildcats will be in action before the Big Ten Championships on Feb. 24-27.
Last time out, Carter Page (500 and 1,000 free), Anthony Marcantonio (200 free and 200 IM), Andrew Cramer (3 meter), and Almog Olshtein (50 free) all grabbed first-place finishes for the Wildcats in the loss to Iowa.
Marcantonio swam a career-best 1:39.28 in the 200 free, while Olshtein swam a top time of 20.41 in the 50 free.
Cramer continued his stellar form, as his score of 366.90 in the 3-meter dive was his best of the season. Cramer has finished first in the 3-meter dive seven out of 10 competitions this season.
Purdue is coming off a 187-107 defeat to No. 9 Indiana in its last dual meet and its season record stands at 4-3.
No. 20 Minnesota is coming off of a sweep of Denver and BYU (Jan. 15-16), which boosted its dual meet record to 5-3. Minnesota's Daryl Turner excels at the 100 free, the 100 fly, and 100 back, and could make the NCAA tournament for all three events.
